Casino Review

Casinos are places where people can enjoy games of chance and gambling. They can be found in land-based establishments, online casinos and even on cruise ships. While gambling can be a fun activity, it is important to know how to handle your money responsibly and avoid losing too much.

The best way to do this is by setting limits for yourself before you enter a casino. Decide how much money you’re willing to lose and stick to that amount. Don’t be afraid to walk away if you lose more than you’re prepared to.

Unlike Goodfellas, which was ground-level and focused on blue collar mobster characters, Casino takes a high-flying view of the mafia centered in Las Vegas. Adapted from the book Casino: Love and Honor in Las Vegas by Nicholas Pileggi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scorsese, the film lays out the intricate web of corruption that was centered in Las Vegas, with tendrils reaching into politicians, Teamsters unions, the Chicago mafia and more.

With a great cast led by Robert De Niro as gangster Don Ricky, Sharon Stone as blonde hustler Ginger McKenna and Joe Pesci as the sardonic Frank Santoro, Casino is an epic story of greed and betrayal. It is not a movie for the faint of heart, with scenes of torture, violence and death aplenty. Yet it is also a very convincing depiction of human tragedy. The characters’ lives are mired in betrayal and avarice and they all end up getting their comeuppance.
